Is Eligible? What Are The Program's Requirements? What Medications Will Be Used To Help With Withdrawal Symptoms? How Is The Program Paid For? Who Is Eligible? Patients who are physically dependent on opioid substances (eg. heroin, vicodin, oxycontin, methadone, morphine, percocet and others), alcohol and benzodiazepines.top of page What Are The Program's Requirements? 1. Initial assessment meeting to determine eligibility.top of page What Medications Will Be Used To Help With Withdrawal Symptoms? The psychiatrist (physician) will meet with the patient, initially, to assess what is medically necessary to treat the withdrawal symptoms. Although there are a number of medications that are available, depending on the symptoms presented, in many cases for opiate dependent individuals a medicine called SUBOXONE is used.top of page How Is The Program Paid For? Patients who are members of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and Tufts Health Plans can use their insurance to pay for this program. All other insurance programs will pay in part for the program and an out of pocket fee will also be required.top of page
